USA Rugby Club 7s National Tournament Recap: 4th Place Finish
With our first trip to the Club 7s Nationals, YoungBloodz had a great time and played some very good rugby. During Pool-Play YoungBloodz found themselves down early and managed comebacks in all of their games played at nationals, some results end in "Wins" and some ended in "Losses" for the YoungBloodz. YoungBloodz were down 10-0 at Half against Denver. The YoungBloodz scored 12 unanswered points in the second half. The game winning try was scored with no time left, pending the conversion which was successful, YoungBloodz completed the first upset of the day. Against Schulykill River, YoungBloodz were down again early and managed a come back but fell short, Schuylkill scored a try as time expired, 21-12 in favor of Schuylkill River. In their final pool-play game, the YoungBloodz needed to win to advance to the cup rounds on Sunday. The YoungBloodz were down early 0-5 in favor to OMBAC. The YoungBloodz answered back to go up 7-5 and found their stride and never looked back winning 21-5.
The YoungBloodz finished with a pool play record of 2-1, qualifying for the Cup Rounds on Sunday. In the Cup: Quarter-Finals the YoungBloodz came from behind to beat the Woodlands Exiles 24-21. YoungBloodz advanced to the Cup Semi-Finals against Belmont Shore. YoungBlooddz found themselves down again and rallied back to even the score at 12-12. Belmont Shore needed all of their star power to knock off the YoungBloodz in the last minute, scoring the game winning try and advancing the the national Championship match with a 17-12 win. With the loss the YoungBloodz were up against a very big and physical Utah team. Utah scored first and the YoungBloodz answered back, 7-7 at halftime. Utah found some momentum and scored three tries in the second half which was too much for the YoungBloodz to come back. Please see below for full results from all of the YoungBloodz matches:

Midwest 7s Championships Recap:
The YoungBloodz finished second place at the Midwest 7s Championship, in Elkhart, Indiana. With the second place finish, the YoungBloodz have qualified for the USA Rugby Club 7s Nationals in San Francisco, August 6-7th. The YoungBloodz played great rugby throughout the Midwest 7s Championship, their only loss coming in the final 26-17 to the Chicago Lions. Below are the YoungBloodz results:

Lakefront 7s Recap:
The YoungBloodz (I & II) had a very successful weekend at Lakefront 7s. Both teams ended with winning records and YoungBloodz I finished in second place. YoungBloodz II missed out of the playoffs due to losing the tie-breaker to the Chicago Griffins II. Here are scores from the tournament.:

YoungBloodz are in third place in the Midwest 7s Series Standing with 11 points. 1823 is first with 22 points and the Chicago Lions are second with 12 points.
Firehouse 7s Recap:
YoungBloodz finished their time at Firehouse 7s with a record of 2-1. The first two pool play matches of the day were one sided in favor of the YoungBloodz, beating Fox Valley Maori 38-0 and University of Kentucky 47-0. In the final pool play match of the day, YoungBloodz faced off against the Chicago Lions. The match was very intense with nice ball skills and big hits on both teams. The YoungBloodz found they try zone first, 5-0. The Chicago Lions answered back, 7-5 in favor of the lions. Right before halftime the YoungBloodz took advantage of a penalty 5 meters out and dove in for the try. Halftime score: 10-7 YoungBloodz in front. In the second half, the YoungBloodz put in another try to go up 17-7 but the Lions did not give up and capitalized on two defensive errors by the YoungBloodz to win 21-17. The YoungBloodz lost the tie-breaker to Milwaukee RFC to advance to the knock-out rounds.

Minnesota 7s Recap:
YoungBloodz took 4th at the Minnesota 7s. YoungBloodz went undefeated through pool play and received a first round bye in the knock stages. In the semi-finals, YoungBloodz had a rematch of the Iowa 7s final with 1823. This time 1823 finished on top, 17-14. With the loss put the YoungBloodz in the third place match against Metropolis. Metropolis beat the YoungBloodz for 3rd place. In the final, Milwaukee beat 1823. It was another rematch from pool play.
YoungBloodz II went undefeated in the open division, going 4-0. Congratulations to all of the teams that participated in the Minnesota 7s.
Iowa 7s Recap:
The Youngbloodz went 3-0-1 on the day, taking the championship. In our first pool play game the YoungBloodz faced off against 1823 7s (from Ohio). The game finished in a 19-19 draw. The second match was against Des Moines RFC and YoungBloodz won 38-0. The YoungBloodz finished first in their pool securing a first round bye in the knock out stages. In the semi-finals YoungBloodz played Kansas City Blues, YoungBloodz won 26-5. In the final, YoungBloodz faced off against 1823 7s. This time the game did not end in a draw and YoungBloodz won 19-10.
